Tips (3)

Note: Before you use this feature, make sure you have Chrome browser installed at your PC.

1、Enable Web Portal and ICE options in order to use WebRTC.

1.1 Please go to Telephony->Extensions->IP Extensions

1.2 Please go to Telephony->Preferences->VoIP Advanced

2、If the device has an external address, then it needs to set up the NAT settings. Otherwise, it might result in no audio or registration failure problems.
Please go to Telephony->Preferences->VoIP Advanced

3、Use the extension number and password to log in to the extension portal. After logging in, allow all permissions required by the Google Chrome browser, otherwise there may be problems that the no incoming call pop up or no audio issues.

  1. Adding a new SIP trunk, please go to Telephony->Outbound Control->Trunks

When creating a new SIP trunk, you only need to fill out the Basic Settings section first, then click on the ‘Submit’ button. The Additional Options section will automatically generate all the data. If you need to change any data on the Additional Options, please click on the Edit button to make the changes.

Problems that may arise

When filling out data on the Basic setting, the most easily ignored spaces that appear at the beginning or end of the data line will cause errors in the data on the Additional Options, which lead to registration error.

When there are domain and IP address provided from the SIP service provider, also the domain can not be resolved on public network DNS. You need to fill out the IP address and port number on the Outbound Proxy shown as below:

Strong password

Please set up STRONG passwords including the admin password, extension password, and trunk password. Setting up a strong password can effectively prevent a malicious attack. When the system is on a public IP address, it’s extremely prohibited to use a simple password such as 123, 123456, aabbcc

For example, in Telephony->Extensions->IP Extensions

Permitted IP

On the advanced setting of each extension of the system, there is a Permitted IP option available to the user. The Permitted IP defines which IP address or network address is allowed to register with that specific extension number. When specifying an IP address, registration from other IP addresses will be dropped, and help prevent malicious attacks from other IP sources.

For example, in Telephony->Extensions->IP Extensions

Close Unused System Services

When the system is running on the public network, closing unused or used system services can effetively increase system security. For example, the auto provisioning function must be closed immediately after the extension is configured, otherwise the hacker may able to download the extension’s configuration file through the service to obtain the extension registration password.

For example, Telephony->Extensions->Auto Provisioning

A firewall is an essential part of the security system. It can prevent against destructive and disruptive forces, with a control over incoming and outgoing network traffic. For instance, when a system is on the Internet, their status can be visible through a port (or port service). The idea of a firewall is to close off the ports if they are not in use. Otherwise, a system that has open ports is a clear invitation for others to raid the system’s information.

2、Create IVR

Please go to Telephony->Inbound Control->IVR
Let’s take a 3-layer IVR as example here.

First of all, we need to create the last layer of IVR2. The final destination of the IVR2 is to the sales department or technical support department.

Then, create the middle layer of IVR1, its final destination is the operator’s extension or IVR2.

Finally, we can create the topmost Welcome layer, and its final destination is the operator’s extension or IVR1.

3、Set up Inbound route to the topmost Welcome IVR layer

Please go to Telephony->Inbound Control->Inbound Routes

Any calls that are from the trunk_out will be directly entered Welcome IVR layer.

1、Enable the Call Spy option on the extension to be monitored. Please go to Telephony->Extensions->IP Extensions

2、Enable the Call Spy option on the dial plan. Please go to Telephony->Outbound Control->Dial Permission
